Born and raised in the Midwest, Chrissy Gordon hails from a large, loving family, where good food and good company matter most. Her work stems from childhood memories filled with handfuls of cookies, toad-catching adventures, and quiet afternoons spent drawing in her bedroom. Utilizing drawing, painting, and printmaking, Chrissy uses shape, color, and light to explore transitory moments and convey feeling. 

She first visited the Detroit Institute of Arts at the age of eleven to see the Vincent Van Gogh exhibition with her family, and the trip made a lasting impression. Chrissy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 2011 and has continued to pursue her artwork amidst a career as a cake artist.

Chrissy is the longest-tenured Honey Crumb Cake Studio team member. When not creating, Chrissy is either running, hiking, or on the hunt for delectable wild mushrooms with her husband, Matt, and their dog, Pretzel.

We are thrilled to exhibit her wonderful artworks during the months of September and October.
